The Bethesda/Gateway office of Long & Foster® Real Estate, Inc., the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States, was today presented with a proclamation from Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot in recognition of the sales office surpassing $1 billion in settled real estate sales for 2012 – a significant achievement in the real estate industry.
Long & Foster’s Bethesda/Gateway office is consistently the No. 1 office in sales volume among all real estate brokerage firms in Montgomery County, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., and for the last 20 years has been the company’s top performing office. The Bethesda/Gateway office is also ranked among the top-producing real estate offices in the United States.
“A large part of the success of the Long and Foster family is our investment in ensuring that our agents are armed with the very best training, tools, and support in the industry to do what they do best – serve the needs of home buyers and sellers in a constantly changing real estate market,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “This long-standing commitment to having the best-trained and most knowledgeable sales associates in the industry has enabled Long & Foster offices to reach incredible sales milestones, such as that seen by our Bethesda/Gateway team.”
Franchot, the third highest ranking elected official in Maryland, presented the proclamation on behalf of the state during a ceremony held at the Bethesda/Gateway office in Bethesda, Md. Also attending the ceremony were Gary Scott; Paul Foster, senior vice president and regional manager of Long & Foster’s Washington, D.C., Montgomery County, Md., and Southern Maryland regions; Leon Nasar, senior branch manager of the Bethesda/Gateway office; and Bonnie Casper, President of the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS and a top-performing Long & Foster agent.
“I am pleased to recognize the leadership of Long and Foster in the region's real estate recovery and for the economic activity and critical revenues the organization generates for our state,” said Franchot.
Long & Foster’s Bethesda/Gateway office has more than 200 affiliated sales associates who serve the metropolitan Washington, D.C., and surrounding Maryland communities. This is the eighth year out of the past 10 years that the Bethesda/Gateway office has surpassed the $1 billion in settled volume milestone.
“I am honored to accept this recognition from the State of Maryland, on behalf of all the associates at one of the hardest working real estate offices in the nation,” said Nasar. “The Long and Foster Bethesda/Gateway office is made up of a superb team of real estate professionals who bring to work every day a client-focused attitude backed by a strong record of sales success. We are glad to be doing our part here in Bethesda to help support the local and state economy, while providing the unmatched home buying services and support that consumers have grown to expect from Long and Foster.”
“I am fortunate to be affiliated with Long and Foster Real Estate, a company that truly cares about its agents by providing the tools we need to simplify the home buying process for our clients and to take our business to the next level,” said Casper. “The Bethesda/Gateway team’s success in reaching $1 billion in sales volume this year is testament to our company’s investment in and commitment to its agents.”
